The funeral profession, like many American industries, has a long history of personal service provided by families with deep roots in the local community. Some of the oldest, continuously operated businesses in the country are family-owned funeral homes. Currently, over 85% of funeral businesses are privately-owned and family-operated. The owners of this family-owned funeral home moved to a newer facility, leaving this property abandoned. Old caskets, tombstones, and embalming chemicals were just some of the items left behind.
A casket wrapped in ivy rests under a tree outside of the funeral home.A Cadillac hearse parked on the property.Caskets remain stacked on a shelf.
Welcome to AbandonedSoutheast.com!
My obsession with abandoned places has inspired me to create this blog.
My goal is to showcase the places I have visited across the Southeast through photographs. I try to incorporate the past history of the location if it is available.

Odd. I wonder why they would leave behind all the caskets and the hearse. Fascinating pictures once again.
