Author: Abandoned Southeast

Welcome to AbandonedSoutheast.com! My name is Leland Kent, and I’ve been captivated by abandoned places since childhood. In 2016, I decided to turn that lifelong fascination into a blog dedicated to sharing the obscure, historic, and forgotten locations I’ve explored across the Southeast. Through my photography and writing, my goal is to document these unique places before they’re lost to time—whether through neglect, demolition, or restoration. Since launching the site, I’ve published six books, beginning with Abandoned Birmingham in 2018, and my work has been featured by media outlets around the world, including National Geographic, CNBC, CBS Inside Edition, CNN Travel, and the Daily Mail. For inquiries or collaborations, please contact me at AbandonedSoutheast@gmail.com. Thank you for your interest and support!
