For more than half a century, this small funeral home has served the surrounding community. Established in the 1960s in rural Georgia, the funeral home was family-owned and operated for its entire existence. After the original owner died, his son and brother took over the business. They continued operating the funeral home until one died and the other retired. Although it has been nearly five years since its last funeral, a family member still acts as its caretaker. On some days, you may find him cutting grass or trimming the hedges around the building. As for the funeral home, its future remains uncertain. The building itself is in a state of disrepair and would have to be restored to code to become operational. As for now, with each passing day, the funeral home sits vacant.
