Surrounded by a thick forest, this home sits idle as a renovation has stalled and left the property abandoned. There is very little history surrounding its original owners. Dating back to the 1800s, the old plantation home remains filled with personal belongings and antiques.

I am afraid that when you post a beautiful abandoned old home and say that it still has a bunch of antiques and furniture left in it that ,that gets the attention of thieves cuz I noticed that a few people didn’t comment but just wanted to know where it is so plz do not tell anybody where these old abandoned houses are . Some might say I’m paranoid I am just cautious and I trust no one 👍

Virginia Ragan, yes, I trust no one either, and there’s so many theives nowadays! At the same time, I would love to go explore these, especially the ones untouched! I am just in awe at things left as were, and could just set and think about how they lived, and place myself into the days long ago, and think about just everything taking place, birthdays, holidays, and all around family gatherings… abandoned southeast has surely found some gems! Would love to hang with them and go to some, but also would be skittish about hauntings and, possibly bringing something out with me… Never know, especially with something demonic! That would be my hold back!

So sad 😢 to see these pics! How could they just walk off and leave this beautiful home? Why not give it to someone that would fix it up and love it? Too sad!

I want that bed (fifth picture from the end). I don’t understand how people abandon houses, let alone good furniture that could easily be moved. What a waste.

I had a bed very similar to this one as well as the equally tall matching dressed and loved them. However when I moved, they were too tall for the room. I was very sad to see them go.

As a child, I stayed with my grandmother a lot. Didn’t have playmates in the country. There was a plantation house across from her that I would sneak over and pretend it was were I lived. I played in that house many summers. As far as I know it’s still standing! Unfortunately the people keep hay in it. That was so disappointing to find out.

How did you gain access inside this home? Not that I’m interested in going, just wondering how you got in.

A caretaker lives nearby and let me in with permission from the family.

Why would they leave all their beautiful furniture , pictures, and dishes behind? I don’t understand that.
This place is beautiful, and could be ever more so.

It’s quite beautiful, though I wouldn’t say totally abandoned, since there is a care taker. It’s well kept inside. I’m amazed it’s not lived in now.
